Android 7 installation takes 15 GB

Hi, just bought Sony Xperia X 64GB dual sim version and upgraded to Android Nougat release the first day. Checking the storage left I can see that Android system is taking up to 15GB space from my total storage. I don't know how much this was before performing the upgrade.
Is this normal?

Hi @messenjah00, welcome to our forums and congratulations on your new Xperia X Dual!

That is perfectly normal, so there is nothing wrong with your phone!

According to the specifications for your phone it states the following "Memory comprises approximately 15.7 GB of firmware, plus 48.3 GB of “Internal storage” for music, pictures and movies, and downloaded applications and their data". (Firmware = Android system).

When a phone starts approaching my laptops operating system size, I don't like it.

I stripped my marshmallow down to 5.5GB, 9GB unpacked with my own default apps
