mp4 video type is not working.

Am using Sony Xperia M4 AQUA DUAL. This phone is not supporting the Mp4 video files as it throws error as cannot play the file.

I have also updated my mobile with the latest update.

May I know how to solve this issue

MP4 is a common format, how it can not supported? Have you try record video from your camera and replay again? Sony video camera format is MP4.

Not entirely true, mp4 has different compression types. @Rumz were those MP4 videos transferred from a computer?

Not transferred from computer. I got tat movie file from another mobile. And I have also noted tat m4 aqua spec has showed the support for mp4 files.

How come it don't support now

Go into developer options and select 'use NuPlayer'. It worked for me.

I got a different problem with my phone. Which is Sony M4 too. Everytime I record a video, it doesn't have images played on the screen. Its like 'total black' but. The sound is playing but the video is full blackout.

How can u help me in this?

Can you see your videos on computer? Also try downloading different app from play store (e.g mxplayer) and check whether they play normally.

@nyl - may I know wat type of file extension it is. Even I got the same issue and it worked after installing VLC media player.

Also try the developer options Nu player.

I am going through the same issue. I bought this phone 2 weeks back. I recorded few videos from my Xperia m4 Aqua but everytime i play the video i can only hear the sound and no video can be seen. After reading this the post i downloaded MX Player but the problem still persists. please guide me what to do.?

PS: I also downloaded VLC Player but it was of no good.

Same here. I tried installing different video players and editors.. Still.. Black screen and just sound. The whole reason I got this phone was because of it's "supposed" video quality... Irritating as .

I've got the same problem. I played the videos with mx player. Not working for me. I'm so annoyed by this issue.

I have same problem. Installed VLC and MX player. NO video, Just audio. XPERIA M4 AQUA. Black screen. Grrr

When im playing my recorder video on my zperia m4 there is no pictures or images..I laready tried installing mxplauer en vcl..same problem occurs...pls help me

I have the same problem on my sony xperia m4 aqua dual. Even after i enabled the nuplayer in the developer options, the problem persisted. When i try to play through the nuplayer or vlc, the file plays without any video - there is a black screen. But the audio does play. The files I'm trying to play are videos taken through the phone's camera app.

Hi I'm having the same problem, also will not let me play or stream videos from the net, also having problems with my loudspeaker, has gone very quite. Only had this phone from Christmas. Please help as very frustrating not being able to use the phone propley.

I also have the same problem just like you guys. The video that i recorded doesn't play only the sound/music and it's frustrating. Does anyone here can help us with this problem?
