Stock Keyboard response is slow

It takes few more seconds than it actually should for my stock Keyboard to come up. For ex, when I place the cursor to type my text msg, the keyboard takes some 3 to 4 seconds to even pop up.

Is there a trick to solve this problem? I checked other keyboards (Google stock one) and its response was satisfactory. However I like xperia keyboard much better.

You could try to clear cache for xperia keyboard too. In fact,when I look at your other thread with chrome lag, I think you should either restart your device or go to settings-storage and clear cache.

Yeah Alex. I did try to clear cache for the xperia keyboard and restarted the device. But this problem was not solved with that. So I thought there is some other trick to solve this issue.

Does the same lag occur?

There is some update for xperia keyboard 20 days bavk.. Have you done that?

@amit_rocking87. Yeah, my phone is upto date wrt firmware and apps updates.

@alexdon. I tried booting in safe mode and used the keyboard for a while. Could not reproduce this issue. However when I am back in normal I am feeling the lag again. What next?

I believe you have some antivirus or clean master app installed which causes this.

I dint install anything. However there is a default Avg anti virus app preinstalled in my phone which I dint bother to un install. Should I remove this and try? What would anti virus do to slow my keyboard?

Keeps on scanning the device, blocks some features etc. You can give it a try.

Uninstalled anti virus and overall performance including keyboard improved. Thanks a lot.
