Subtitles on ITV

I am disappointed as I bought a Sony In preference to a Samsung and only because I could not get subtitles on ITV Hub on my existing LG Smart TV. I now find that Sony can’t whereas Samsung can. I believe the only solution is Apple TV device. Anybody have any further ideas?

I'm having the same issue.

I've bought a BRAVIA 4K UR3 and can't get subtitles on ITV Hub either. Very frustrating!

For LG, do Settings/All Settings/Accessibility/Subtitles (almost off the bottom of the screen) On.

Here’s a Corrie on the itv Hub on my 2020 LG GX:-

But maybe the Sony can do subtitles on the itv hub, and you just haven’t found out how? Maybe @Joe_Dohn or somebody will know, for the 2020 sets?

But failing that, a Roku device should add the capability for under £40 - I needed a Roku, a Premiere (now superseded by the Express) to get All4 on the LG above.

I probably shouldn’t ask why, if you were changing your TV because of this very specific problem, you didn’t first check if going to Sony was out of the frying pan into the fire? 😛
