KD55A8 goes to screen saver mode whilst programmes playing

I have a Sony KD55A8 with the latest firmware update. Intermittently when viewing programmes via HDMI cable from my Virgin Media TIVO box, the TV goes into screen saver mode despite the programme playing. If I check a button on the Sony TV controller then it comes out of screen saver mode but then after 30 seconds or so goes back to screen saver mode. Resetting the TV seems to fix the issue for some time but then it will intermittently happen again.

My understanding is that if the TV is operating correctly then if a programme is playing it should not go into screen saver mode. I was wondering if this is a known issue or whether there is some setting causing this issue?

Easy way round....switch your screensaver off

Hello bbbullock,

Try different HDMI cables,and different HDMI ports as well and then test again.
