Network card not working after hibernation

Hi

I have a Vaio VGN-SR29XN running Vista. When it wakes up after hibernating the wired internet connection does not work. It has become disabled: if I look in Device Manager it is not listed.  The wireles connection is not affected and works fine after hibernation.

To re-establish my wired connection I need to either re-boot or go into Device Manager, click on Network Adapters and 'scan for hardware changes'. This finds the Marvell Yukon 88E8040 Ethernet Controller and everything then works fine.  This problem does not occur afte 'sleep'.

I have tried  changing the Power Management setting for the Ethernet Adapter, de-selecting the 'Allow the computer to turn off this device' option, but this makes no difference.  The Advanced settings for the Adapter include Wake Up from Shutdown=On and Wake-Up Capabilities=Magic Packet and Pattern.

Can anyone suggest what needs to be done to resolve this problem?

Thanks in advance.
