Still apps not connecting

Hi help please. Reported to Sony in January apps not connected. Back and forth with their suggestions. Now all echausted tv still not connecting to inbuilt apps. But surprise surprise after 5 months they now say need a repair but warranty has expired. So they now expect me to pay for engineer even though problem has been reported and supposedly being dealt with for 5 months. 3 months prior to warranty expiring

Usually, they would have some sort of grace period for when something like that happened, have you tried making a complaint?

Yes made a complaint told today that my problem was not covered by warranty so basically not interested. If I want to pay for an engineer visit I can but as problem not resolved after Sony technical team have tried everything doubt engineer would fix. Just a cop out Sony cant fix it so now say not their responsibility as apps. Even though apps are built into tv as NOT AN ANDROID. So I cant add apps.

As far as I can remember, warranty is mainly hardware so it's a little irrelevant here. You should still be able to get them to investigate the cause of the issue since you've tried all the regular steps with support as mentioned.

 

Do let us know how things turn out though.

So frustrated Sony will not confirm that they cannot fix the problem now referred me back to Currys who are referring me to Sony. Spent all day yesterday  back and forth. Sony basically washed their hands as keep saying nothing to do with them as third party apps not covered by warranty and not interested when I mention that I am covered by 2015 Faulty goods Act. Have tried to escalate complaint but just receive above as a reply. Currys should be helping but no joy

I'm a bit confused, support confirmed that they can't help, or haven't replied with a confirmation yet?
