Hello, I have an old TV KDL-40v4000; some of the keys of the remote are not working anymore; I tried to buy a replacement remote RM-ED013 but the Sony original does not seem to be available anymore.

Rather than buying a dodgy replacement, I thought of asking here if any of the Sony original remotes currently available for sale would be a full replacement for the unavailable RM-ED013.

Hey,

I don't think Sony make replacement or spare of their remotes, as far as i know they always recommend using the original remote, and never provide alternatives.

So, I'd say keep searching online for a remote with the original's same model, or try your luck with a universal remote.

Well, looking around various online shops, nobody sells an original Sony RM-ED013. However you can buy for eample an original Sony RM-ED062; it seems having more or less the same buttons, probably a more recent version of the former for newer TVs... question is, would an RM-ED062 work with a TV originally provided with an RM-ED013?
