KDL-32WD755 and Firmware update

I have an LED TV KDL-32WD755 with firmware v8.213. I see there is a newer firmware v8.219. I've read what improvements it brings, but I'm a little scared to install it. Has anyone ever had a problem after installing a new filmware. How long does it take? Does it reset all settings to factory defaults after that installation? Like light, color, picture format, TV programs, etc. Can I damage the TV during that installation. I still have a 16 month warranty.

Hi Hazl113,

Usually there are no issues with installing a newer version.

The installation process can take a while (half an hour to 1 hour depending on your internet connection).

It shouldn't reset any settings.

But yes, there's a little risk of damaging the TV if e.g. power interrupts during update or downloaded update data is damaged.

Installation is certainly faster when done via a USB stick. So I will do if I decide to install the new firmware. The firmware is copied from this official site. Are all settings lost with that installation.
