Update to A7M3 Firmware from 3.10 to 4.0

Hi, Has anyone tried to update their A7M3 to the latest Firmware version? I have tried to follow the on line user guide for the update and it always fails. The guide suggests turning the camera off and removing the battery and then re-launching the Updater App. After the 4th attempt with different USB cables I have stopped trying until I get some feedback from Sony or other users as to their experience? Has anyone tried this yet?

Thanks Jono, I don’t have windows, but I suspect the issue is with the Sony installer app. I won’t waste anymore time on it until Sony issue an update that works.

Have you tried using a different PC/laptop? I've seen others with the same issue getting it fixed just like that, and it wasn't even a different operating system or version.

Hope this helps!

To answer your question I have tried on an Acer laptop and on a Sony desktop
to no avail.

This is a bit thin, but have you tried installing PlayMemories Home, connecting your camera, then trying the update?

A wild suggestion.

Do a factory reset and try again.

It works with stubborn smartphones, so why not with stubborn cameras.

Hi luciano.o, did you check the required operating system? Some mac version won't work simply. If yes, the next step after Strampke's suggestion is to send the camera for an inspection.
