ISO noise reduction by multiple exposures on A7r4

Dear all,

I use a good old Sony rx1 mk2 and the feature in subject line results in superb shots even in extremely low light situations.

However, I cannot seem to find this feature on my new A7r4. Is it renamed, well hidden or simply not available?

Thanks a lot for your suggestions.

Hi zolliejunk,

These functions are available with your A7RM4 as well. You can find them in the menu named as:

Long exposure noise reduction (https://helpguide.sony.net/ilc/1930/v1/en/contents/TP0002728100.html)

High ISO noise reduction (https://helpguide.sony.net/ilc/1930/v1/en/contents/TP0002711864.html)

Cheers

Peter

Hi Peter,

Thanks a lot for your help.
I took a look and found it, however with Sony A7R4 this is not based on
taking multiple exposures like with Sony RX1 mk2, but some other approach I
am not familiar with the efficiency of.
Any clue?

Best regards,
Zoliie

Hi @zolliejunk

I've been comparing the description of the feature on both cameras (in Sony's online help guide), but I can't see what would indicate that a different mechanism is used. So may I ask you where that was indicated?

As far as I can see, High ISO NR is exactly the same on both models.
