Cant use REMOTE on Imaging Edge Desktop

When I connect my ILCE-7K (alpha 7) camera to my computer is shows up on my computer but not on Imaging Edge. I've tried different cables, un-installed and re-installed Imaging Edge Desktop but still does not work. Any ideas please?

Hi Waycombe.

Is you computer compatible with Imaging Edge? What operating system do you have?

You can find the system requirements here:

I had the same problem. It was solved by turning off the Dropbox app. Any app or program your computer that is looking out for a camera to be connected can cause this, so Google Sync & Backup, possible Lightroom and Elements from Adobe.

I have been struggling with the same problem with my A9II on my desktop PC - on my laptop PC everything was fine.

The camera worked perfectly fine in the Windows Camera app, but Imaging Edge Desktop - Remote said it was not connected. I tried everything including reinstalling Windows, but no.

Until today, when Sony released a new version of Imaging Edge Desktop with support for the new A1. This version also seems to have fixed the connection issue. No problems connecting the camera today.
